Next project

Here is the link for the quilt I am going to be making for my friend's fundraiser. It is Falling Charms from Missouri Star Quilt Company. I have made the quilt before and it looks amazing and is easy to make.

I know this seems to be an odd combination for a quilt. The fundraiser is being held by a Hot Rod and Street Rod group. I have used this fabric for my friend before. I made a quilt for her daughter years ago and the skull fabric was the backing for her quilt.

Her daughter called this quilt her scary, scary quilt!

Stash Report Week 4

I have approached a friend about making a quilt for a fundraiser her and her hubby are doing in March. I have made three trips to three different JoAnn's looking for a particular pink fabric. And now my numbers reflect my trips to JoAnn's. I hope to start the quilt this week and get my numbers moving in positive direction.

Design Wall

I have no design wall but I have a few clothespins and an I beam in the basement. This is the baby quilt I put together this morning. I am going to pin baste it now and start quilting it. Every thing is from my stash. Not making a dent but that is okay

Better pictures once it is finished. Linking up with Patchwork Times.

Stash Report, Week 3

Better late than never. I did finally get the table cloth finished and it is now being washed and dried. I now can start on something new. As part of our guild challenge for 2015, I needed to finish a UFO before starting something new. Next up is a baby quilt for the guild's Kid's Komfort project. My aim is to make a quilt each month for them. And then I am making a few shopping bags for me using the ugly fabric from my stash. I had made a bunch using pretty fabric and I ended up giving those away. I am hoping I can keep ugly.

Used this Week: 7 1/8 yards
Used year to Date: 7 1/8 yards
Added this Week: 0.0 yards
Added Year to Date: 0 yards
Net Used for 2015: 7 1/8 yards

So far so good. Linking up with Patchwork Times.

Plans for 2015

This is one of the things I finished before Christmas. Matching sleep pants for my kids and a tie around the neck for Frankie the grand dog. I did very little sewing for Christmas.

I have been toying with my sewing/quilting plans for 2015. Our guild is doing a challenge to finish a UFO each month before starting something new. I have decided to take the challenge. I have picked my January project to finish from my pile of projects. I have decided to quilt the matching table cloth for this one.

I am able to locate the top, backing and batting. I will spend my Saturday pin basting it and get it ready for machine quilting. I have already decided what my new project for January will be. I am going to try once again to make a baby quilt every month for our Kid's Komfort program thru the guild. And of course sewing for Elly and my sister Patty. I have dress fabric for Patty and night gown fabric for Elly. And a nice tote bag for Tania, Elly's mommy. I was able to snag the bag I wanted to use a pattern from Tania before they left for home.

I am also going to start hand quilting my Christmas quilt and work on my Grandmother's Flower Garden. And find a good lender and ender project. I have a couple of ideas for this.

Also still working on my no buy fabric diet. It is working out pretty well. Just don't seem to be making any progress using my stash.

There is only one other project that needs to be completed in January, it is time for my Continuing Education for my Pharmacy Technician certification. I swear every time I am going to do one CE each month, but that is a lot of talk and not much action. Check back at the end of the month to see where I am on this goal.

Time to get ready to go to work. First night back in over two weeks. January and February are our busy months and no PTO hours available. Tonight will be tough as I did not get much sleep today.
